December 16th, 2005 - Happy Holidays
Happy Holidays everyone!!!!!!!!!!!
We thought we'd send our wishes out now since it's going to be a very busy rest of Dec. for us as the wedding is soon.
We have been so excited and anxious for a while now and we're looking forward to our special day. You will probably see photos somewhere.
We are just getting ready for Brian Boitano's show here in Vegas tomorrow night and then we're going back to Edmonton until the 5th of Jan. so it'll be a nice break for us.
We leave for tour on the 5th and we're gone until the 11th of May and then it's surgery time for my shoulder. Yikes
I'm sure it'll be just fine and then I'll be healthy for next year. We will be going to Italy for the Olympics to work with t.v so keep your eyes open for us. He!he! It'll be sooooooooo fun to be on the other side.
I'm sure you all know about the skating on t.v this month and don't forget Brian's show is on new years day.
Hope you are enjoying all the skating on t.v, you shouldn't be bored there is a lot of it.
We would also like to thank you all for all your nice wedding wishes and your gifts and messages etc. You are really good to us and we appreciate everything, always.
We're sorry if you're disappointed with Stars this year, we really didn't expect to get those reviews as we like it and always have fun doing it. Hopefully you still enjoy the actual skating in it. We are working hard we promise.
We have decided to "REALLY" do Wynonna Judd's "I Wanna Know What Love Is" for our 2nd # and not "Blower's Daughter", because we feel it doesn't quite work where we are.
Thanks again for all your support and have a WONDERFUL and safe Christmas and New Years. Talk to you all soon,
Cheers,
Jamie and Dave
November 25th, 2005 - Lake Placid
Hi everyone
We are a day away from opening night here in Lake Placid and everything is going very well, from our perspective anyway
We are "Chris-less" this year so it was a bit weird but our other choreographers were amazing and they had only 2 weeks to put the whole show together (it usually takes a month). We've been running the show now for 2 days (not so normal) and it's really going to be awesome!
It's quite complicated because Scott Hamilton narrates the whole show and in between things so they need to put that together with the music timing and lighting and so on. It's much more than any of you can imagine. The skating is the easy part. Well, easier than the rest.
O.k, so it's called "The Show" as some of you know already and it's a reflection of the past 20 years of Stars on Ice with certain things we all do during rehearsals, dress rehearsals and off ice before the actual show.
It's a look at how we do things and we even show some our "goodies" that we do before the show.
The opening starts off not what Scott wanted for Stars so it then it goes into what he was hoping for. There aren't as many "shtick" (as we call it) trasitions this year because of the time restraint but the show moves really nicely and looks great.
There are some beautiful moments in the show too that I won't tell you about so I don't ruin it but you might even cry or get a little choked up.
The music is so much fun and you should be dancing in your seats a LOT.
You'll probably have a smile on your face too.
We have dress rehearsal tonight so everyone's pretty excited and looking forward to seeing it all together.
Costumes are still getting put together but they'll be fine. I know that our 2nd program one's aren't getting done for here as we didn't decide what we were doing until the 4th day here and it's wasn't enough time to make it. We chose Wynonna Judd's "I wanna know what love is".
Our other one is a rag time piece that Chris did and it's crazy hard.
We love it though and have fun doing it. Hopefully you'll enjoy it too.
So that's it for now, I'm sure you'll be reading all about it on Sunday morning so I'll let you read about it and we'll post at a later date. We are doing World Team Challenge next Sun. too in London and then we're off to Victoria for our Christmas show the week after.
We are also doing Brian Boitano's show in Vegas on the 17th of Dec and then we're home until the 5th of Jan.
The WEDDING is coming too....
Talk to you all later,
Jamie
October 6th, 2005 - Oops!
Hi everyone!
Apparently I made a mistake by telling all of you that there is no taping in Lake Placid. We will have a t.v show this year but I'm not exactly sure what they will be taping for the the show. We don't really know much until we get there. What do I know, I'm just a skater
Sorry if I misinformed you.

September 28th, 2005 - Fall is here!!!
Hello Everyone!!
I'm finally posting to tell you about our summer, my apologies for taking sooooooo long. It's been busy for us lately with some unexpected travelling and planning for the wedding, as it is coming this winter. I can't believe how fast our summer went, as usual I guess but we're almost starting another Stars on Ice season and I feel like we just got back on the ice. But we've been training since June 10th.
We're quite excited again this year for what's ahead of us.... a few more t.v specials and a competition in London, Ont. and then it's wedding time. So exciting
We'll be at Kurt's special in Toronto and then we're doing Scott Hamilton's benefit in Cleveland and then off to rehearsals for 2 1/2 weeks. Yikes
We usually have the whole 4 weeks to prepare for the show but this year we have almost half the time. Apparently we're not doing the t.v show there though so that takes quite a bit of stress off of all us. Things are bit different this year but they're good diferences. It's all good!!!
I have my little buddy now Jennifer Robinson doing the whole tour with me so that's awesome for me and of course our cute little Yuka Sato.
We're going to have a blast!
We skated our first (official) show in Thunder Bay, Ont. last week and it went really well. We did one new program and they seemed to love it. It's one of our favorites now but it's always great to get a positive reaction from the crowd. We haven't decided whether or not it'll be our 2nd Stars program or we have one more that we'll use instead. We are skating them both for Christopher Dean today in Colorado Springs so we'll know by later this afternoon. One is from Damion Rice, "Blower's Daughter" and the other is by Wynnona Judd, "I wanna know what love is".
Both are excellent songs but quite different in the skating.
It all depends on what you our audience gets a greater feeling from.
I didn't tell you yet but I officially need surgery on my shoulder in May right after the tour. Thank goodness that I can wait until the end but hopefully I make it, we're taking a bit of a risk but don't we always.
I torn my Laibrum (I don't know how to spell it). I subluxed it again when Chris was in Edmonton in Aug. choregraphing our other Stars #. We were just doing a lift at the end of our session and BAM, it was a bad dismount and it came out again. Ouch!
I was not a happy camper. I thought our season was over for sure but the pain only lasted for a week and then went and did a show in Barrie, Ont. for a charity.
Anyway, so that's that and we're skating fine training all 4 of our new programs. It's fun but crazy having to train so many and we also need another X-mas # for Dec. Yikes! We better get going on that.
Hope you guys are all well and had a fabulous summer. Thanks for logging on to read about us and we will be updating you more often.
Take care and be well,
Jamie
July 29th, 2005 - Summertime
Hi everyone!
I hope your summer has been fantastic so far. Lots has happen since the last time we spoke. Skating in the summer has never been a favorite thing of mine but we have been having a fantastic time. We went to Sun Valley to do 2 shows. It took us over 35 hours to get there. Broken planes, flight attendant missing in action, flat tire, broken valves and 4th of July week-end and you have yourself a day in the life of someone who travels has much has us. It was well worth it. We love Sun Valley. We played golf and Jamie beat me for the first time. I knew the day would come. Her game has been solid all summer. Mine, on the other hand has been degrading a little bit too fast. Jamie is a natural athlete and I was really fine with the outcome of the match. We were still in Sun Valley, one of the most beautiful place in the USA.
We have been on the ice since the beginning of June and we already have 2 programs made up. We have worked with Cindy Stuart and Christopher Dean. Both of them as you know are part of the team of Stars On Ice. We still have a few shows to do in August and we are going in Quebec to visit my family and our friends. We haven't been since December so we are looking forward to that trip.
The month of September will be very busy and it should cool down a liitle bit in October. After it's a great period of the year where we create Stars On Ice.
I wish you a great rest of the summer and looking forward to seeing you again.
David
June 1st, 2005 - Vacation
Hi guys and gals
I thought I would tell you how our time off is going. A bit of wedding planning and whole lot of relaxing and enjoying our house and friends. But a few girfriends and I decided to go to Vegas for a couple of days so that was my time away. Dave went to the Rockies to ski and play a bit with a friend of his while we were gone. We had so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!I don't know how many of you have been there but it's pretty special with all the glitz and glamour everywhere and all the amazing shows you can see. We did a lot of shopping (you'd be proud of me, I didn't buy too much) and saw 2 shows. Great food too by the way.
We saw "O" from Cirque which was outstanding and Celine Dion which was also amazing. It was overwhelming to see both shows for me because I really appreciate how difficult everything is that the Cirque people do and had my mouth wide open the whole time. I was supremely impressed.
My friends and I got to meet Celine too before the show and I am so proud she's Canadian. She was so kind and sincere when she met everyone who was back stage to have a picture with her. It was minutes before the show started and she still took the time to talk (briefly) with each of us and was absolutely gorgeous. She's very tall too which surprised me a lot I always thought she was about 5'3 maybe but she's about 5'7-5"8.
Anyway, she signed our pictures for us and they sent them to our room the next day. You can imagine how thrilled we all were, we were like teenagers screeming in our room. Funny heh?!
So now we're both home and getting ready to start skating again next week. Dave is getting his wisdom teeth out on Friday so I'll be pampering him for a couple of days for sure. Oh, don't worry he gets a ton of pampering all the time.
Hope you're all well and have some fun plans for the summer. I know we're busy. Almost time to start choreographing and doing some seminars.
We'll keep you in tune with everything.
Bye for now, take care
Jamie
May 5th, 2005 - Off to the West coast
Hi everyone!
Well we made it home yesterday afternoon and man was it great to see it. It was funny though because the first we said to eachother was, "what are we going to do with all this time?" We laughed a bit and then figured it didn't really matter for at least a month which is when we get back on the ice. We had such an awesome tour this year and we'd like to thank you for making it special for us too. You guys treat us so well and without you we wouldn't have a show so thank you again, REALLY.
Our last show in Victoria was so much fun, 1st knowing it was the last but 2ndly Victoria hasn't had a Stars show there in a long time so they were an amazing croud. We've been hearing from everyone that this years show was the best they've seen so far (at least for the last 3 years). We loved it and we were very proud of it and I hope you all loved aswell. Can't wait to see what they'll come up with for next year. Exciting stuff!!
Anyway, so we're just going to be busy living in our new home that we moved into last Sept. and playing for a while. Obviously wedding plans have to be in there somewhere. That should be fun, I'm excited to tell you my little secret for Dave but I can't until after the day because it's very special and he can't know about it. You'll just have to wait. Sorry!
Take care and be well and we'll let you know how our summer is going.
Bye for now,
Jamie
April 25th, 2005 - Off to the West coast
Hello everyone!
So what do you think of the show? Pretty awesome heh!? You can tell I'm very proud of the show, I think Christopher Dean, Scott Hamilton and Jef Billings did an amazing job. It's quite a different feeling here in Canada as far as the flow of the show goes and it has so much energy. We are having a lot of fun so far and the audiences have been fantastic. Thank you;)!
We're now heading to Winnipeg, Manitoba for show #7 tomorrow and then it's almost home for Dave and I. Yay, we're so excited! It's so hard to believe that it's coming to the end already, only 6 more.
I had a great B-day in Toronto last Thursday, thank you for the mesages everyone that is so cool! I got spoiled by everyone on tour with flowers, cookies, coffee cards, wine and stuff to put in my car. We had a reception the same evening at the Olympic Spirit in T.O (it's like a museum for Olympic sports) and played there for a while with the sponsors and then went out for dinner. You have to check out the Olympic Spirit if you are ever in T.O, it's really spectacular. I had goose bumps all over again watching all the videos and seeing all the pictures. They had some footage of us right after we skated with me saying #1 to Dave and him coming up to me and kissing me. It almost made me cry. Remember I'm a ball baby?
Anyway, it was a great night and now I'm 28. I still feel like I'm 18 though.
O.k, I'm getting the ,"it's time to go, finish up" from Dave so talk to you soon and hopefully see a lot of you soon too. Be good and be well.
Jamie
April 16th, 2005 - We are in Canada
Hi everyone,
We can't believe we just did 60 shows in the USA for the third season in a row. Where did the time go? I remember the show in Chicago liike it was 3 weeks ago and it was show #20!
Opening night in Halifax is always very special! It's a new energy that is created with the addition of Jeff, Jennifer, Shae and Kurt. They did a wonderful job. It's very hard for new cast members to jump into a show that has been going for 3 months already. The show grows constantly. I have to say that all these people are great professionnal and extremely talented.
It's also great to have Jeffrey B. with us. I'm sure the experience of touring with SOI will be extremely beneficial for the next year. He is in my opinion the most talented single skater in the world right now. He is an all around skater. I love watching him practice. He is a very positive soul to be around and a great person. I wish for him to stay healthy in the year to come. If I wish something for ourself going into our Olympic year, it was health. It's the most important thing if you want to accomplish your goal. If you have it, nothing can't stop you from doing your own Olympic performance.
Thanks again to all of you who came to the USA to see us this year. I can't wait to see all the Canadian fans in the next couple of weeks.
Lots of love
David
March 31st, 2005 - lots of travelling coming up
Happy Spring everyone!
Hopefully the weather is getting nice for those who actually have a winter. We spend so much time inside so it doesn't really change anything for us. Although it sure makes a difference for your mood when you get up and the sun is shinning through your window vs. clouds or snow.
We have travelled a lot by bus as you already know but we have some real doosies coming up. Our shortest post show drive for the next week and 2 days is 275 miles and the average one is 400 miles. We have a 500 one and a 650 one aswell. That means we arrive in the next city in the late morning. Nice heh!?
We have 8 shows left in 10 days so you can "IMAGINE" how tired we're going to be once we get to Halifax for rehearsals "AGAIN". (We are driving to Halifax from Portland,ME post show.)
Believe it or not at this point it's easier to drive all night and sleep in our bunks on the bus thatn arrive at hotel at 5am and break up our sleep. That way we wake up around 9am and make our Starbucks coffee on the bus and then go for breakfast once we've settled in.
So we've seen some more movies lately. My favorite one was Notebook. It's a bit of a chick-flick but it's so beautiful. All of us girls watched it and cried like babies. Loved it!
Hostage was a great one too but I spent the whole time half way down my seat and had my jacket covering half my face. Scary!
Closer was quite good but a little twisted I thought. I LOVED the actors in the movie, you couldn't get a better looking cast and they were great in it.
We also saw Oceans 12 and Sideways. Didn't really love either of them, they were alright.
I watched Spanglish with our therapist last night and we both liked it. It's just a good movie we thought, and we loved the Spanish actress in it. Very Cute!
So that's our update on the movies. Oh ya, if you have never seen Bill Cosby "Himself" you must buy or rent it. It's so funny you'll be on the floor laughing so hard especially if you're a parent. He's one of my favorites.
We hope you've been enjoying our updates. Only 1 more for the Us tour and then we're in CANADA!!!!
Take care and be well,
Jamie
March 20th, 2005 - Only 14 shows left
Hey guys and gals!
Can you believe how fast this tour is going? I have to admit something though. We always get to a point in the tour where we feel exhausted and almost like we hit a wall and I hit it about 5 days ago or so. We still have great shows and skate well but it's a feeling in your legs and mind. As soon as I get on the ice I'm o.k because I love it but post show I'm beat again and fell kind of crummy. In the past years we've had (a couple) 4 days off and maybe (one) 5 days off so we can catch up on our rest and vegging but this year we've only had (one) 4 day off and we've done quite a bit of media stuff and appearances on days off or we've gotten in really early in the morning.
We're looking forward to our days off coming up that's for sure. I feel the show is qiute a bit more demanding this year which is good for me, I enjoy being busy but my legs are really feeling it.
Anyway, we get spoiled every year and go to the Smuckers family house for lunch and then we go shopping in the store. We signed autographs this time for people in the town of Orville and then we back to our hotel.
The Smucker family is so generous and extremely good to us. And they have the BEST jams and treats.
So we're on show #47 tonight in Peoria, IL. We're all happy that the rest (2 more including tonight) of our matinees are at 6pm and not 4pm. The reason is because the drive from the last city is too long for the crew to set up for a 4pm show. No complaints from us.
Oh,oh. I have to go, I forgot about my laundry so I have to go. Make sure you tell all your friends who haven't seen the show yet to get out and see it, it's too good to miss.
Take care and be well,
Jamie
March 13th, 2005 - Hi everyone!
(Post originally in French - this is a translation)
I hope that everything is going well. For us, the road is wonderful. We are very satisfied with our performances and the overall quality of the show. We are in Albany (Sunday) and are going to visit the Smuckers people tomorrow, in Ohio.
It’s hard to believe that there are only 18 shows left in the United States. It is our third season and I think we are getting used to the road. You must believe me when I say that going back home after 4 months requires an adjustment period. Making your bed, going to the grocery store, paying the bills or mowing the lawn are all things that don’t cross our minds when we are on tour. However, it’s these things that we find so enjoyable.
The bus trips will be very long in the following weeks. There will be a lot of action around the XBOX. A lot of movies will also be watched.
Thank you for everything, you are the best fans in the world.
Talk to you later
David
March 4th, 2005 - All shopped out!!!!!!!
Hi everyone!
We just had an awesome day off in New York City but I'm all shopped out. I've been loking for a new top for Radar Love because mine is getting a bit torn and it won't last too much longer. Not fun shopping for this beecause you can imagine how many places have tops that are sparkly, wearable for the ice and fits with Dave's shirt, which is grey. Not too many. I was very limited but as I was walking back to the hotel today at 1pm (an hr. before our bus left for Long Island) I passed a store that I thought I'd have one last look in and there it was. The last sparkly (black with gun metal sequins) tank left in the store. How's that for lucky?
I bought it but I'm going to wait until I can't wear my original one anymore. There's a good story for ya! The thngs we have to do for costumes. Whatever works right?
We wanted to tell you that you have to see "Coach Carter" and "Hitch" if you haven't already seen it. Coach Carter is a great inspirational story and Hitch is funny and just a good time. We also saw "Finding Neverland" and loved it. It works really well with our show "Imagination". Still have to see Sideways and few others but we did see "Million Dollar Baby" and thought it was o.k.
Didn't love it at first but at about the half way point we started to like it. Very say at the end for those who haven't seen it. I cry a lot in movies though, it's kind of embarrassing when you're in the theater and there's a sad scene and your nose starts running because you're bawling and you're wiping your eyes and nose on your sweater or something.
Dave's always laughs at me.
Anyway, wow we're on show #35 tonight in Long Island! I can't believe it. It's definately going fast for me this year.
It's time to get ready for our warm-up so take care and be well. Talk to you all next week.
Jamie
February 21st, 2005 - Back on the road
Hi guys and gals!
We had sucha great break at home for 3 days of our 4 days off during our Florida stint.
It was so nice to be our home in our bed and see our friends and family for a bit. It always goes so fast though and then we're back on the road for another 35 shows.
It's hard to believe that we are almost half way through the tour. It's show #29 tonight in Fort Myers (actually, I'm writing about an hour before the show).
Florida is so beautiful and we have an awesome time down here all the time. How can you not? We have a day off tomorrow to golf and get some rays and go for a nice dinner and then off to New Jersey (I think)
Anyway, we are also on show # 4 of 4 in a row and we've benn doing very well as far as energy and good legs goes. It gets tough because show #3 is always a matinee and we're staying in one place for 5 days so we're driving a few hours to each show, therefore, our resting is cut a little. We're all feeling good though and we're greatful we've been able to get some sun. No burns though so that's good!
Gotta go get ready now for the show but we'll be back soon. A week goes by REALLY fast, for us anyway!
Take care,
Jamie
February 13th, 2005 - 4 days off!
Hi!
I'm writitng from Colombus. We are a few hours before the show. We got in last night at 5:00am and we are feeling quite good considering the long hours of travelling.
We are almost halfway (show #25) of the US tour and it's going so fast. Every show still feels new and exciting to do. We have 4 days off and we are going home. Most of you guys would ask yourself what do you do when you are home for 3 days after you have been gone for almost 2 months?
First thing is to get to our place as fast as possible. We want to go see if everything is all set and all right. Then, I will probably drive my car. I miss driving. It's good to be in control of where we are going and when. We will have dinner every night to our favorite restaurants because as you can imagine, there is not a lot in the fridge. We will visit with friends and family and we will try to sit on the couch and watch some canadian TV. I will read the paper every morning and take my time to drink my coffee. Just thinking about it makes me smile!! I will try to fit in a hockey game on one of the many outside rink in Edmonton.
The best part of being home, is your bed. That, I'm sure, I will enjoy as much as possible.
Have a great week!!
David
February 5th, 2005 - We're back!
Hi everyone!
I'm sure some of you already know about us being able to skate 1 of 2 programs again in the show. We have skated our Queen program for 2 shows now (no Radar Love) and it's been great
We are in Chicago tonight for show #20 and if all goes good on our practice we'll be doing both programs. I can't tell you how nervous but extremely excited I was the other night going out there infront of all of you with an injured shoulder knowing that if it goes out again we're going home for the rest of the tour. I was shakin' in my boots
I have to think about every little step and arm movement that we do and concentrate on my posture and holding my shoulder where it needs to be to not move around or cause pain.
I am doing therapy at least twice a day and doing all my strengthening exercises everyday but NO yoga which is making me crazy. I'm watching Dave do it and I'm very sad that I can't. Never take your health for granted, be greatful for everything you can do. SERIOUSLY. I don't want to sound like I'm preaching but I had a reality check and you don't see it until something happens.
Anyway, we all only have 1 body so look after it.
Dave and I are going to be in Ottawa tomorrow just for the day for Winterlude, not quite sure what our day is going to be like but it'll be nice to go home anyway even just for a day.
We get to go HOME, HOME on Valentine's Day for 3 days which we very excited about.
It's the only break long enough to actually go home and be worth it. In the past 2 years we've had a couple other breaks even for 2 days to go home but it's not the case this year.
That's o.k, we're having fun with our friends and it's going fast.
We are already ( as of tonight ) 1/3 the way through the US part.
Dave and I would like to thank everyone for the messages on our engagement, that's very kind of you all of you to be so thoughtful. Thank you again that means a lot to us.
We'd also like to thank Cassie, Erika,Suzie and Heather for their cards. You guys were sweet
One more thank you to Allison Kwan for sending us the picture that we loved so much from our Somewhere over the Rainbow program. Nice one!
It's Family Feud week coming up but promise me, like I told you before, NO LAUGHING at us especially me. I wasn't so good and I'm just over the whole thing now. Kidding. Seriously though I was pretty bad. Happy watching
Take care and heh, go do something really nice for yourself today. You deserve it.
Jamie
January 29th, 2005 - Sorry to inform all of you
Hi guys!
We have some not great news for you. Last night we were in St. Louis and I stepped out of my throw in the opening, lost my ballance and fell forward and subluxed my shoulder (this is when your shoulder pops out and comes back). It 's the 3rd time I've done this in 5 years (not good ) so my shoulder has an instability and now I'm in a bit of trouble. Not sure when I'll be able to do "everything" again but as of this morning I have more rage than we all expected. I have to be extremely careful because it can come out again with any wrong or quick movement.
We did our 1st program last night after it happened which was good but it slipped out on an arm movement near the end of the program and then for the rest of the show I could not even use my left arm. It was so hard for me, I did Annie Lennox but one-armed and felt so silly not being able to do much.
We're in Kanas City tonight and Minneapolis tomorrow night so for all of you who are coming our apologies, we will not be doing either of our programs but we'll both be doing all of production stuff.
This really sucks
I know things happen but it was such a weird fall and I REALLY don't like not skating our programs but there's nothing I can do. I'll keep all of you posted.
Cassie and Erika maybe you want consider coming to a later show so you can see us skate? It's up to you. So sorry everyone. I'm so bumbed out it's not funny.
Just know that we have an awesome therapist here with us, who already got me feeling 50% better than last night, so my recovery should be rapid.
Take care and talk to you all soon,
Jamie
January 24th, 2005 - Week #3
HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!
I'm writng you right now from Minn/St. Paul where we just finished our media day promoting the show. It was a busy morning with 3 t.v spots, 2 radio and 2 print interviews which all started at 6:30am thiis morning and finished at noon. We are on our way later tonight to Chicago to do another media day tomorrow morning and then we join everyone again tomorrow night.
We've had another great week of shows and awesome turn outs which is so good to see.
The reviews from what we see are fantastic and positive.
We had a bit of a rough show in Denver but we recovered and had an awesome show in Dallas right after. We have those nights some times where we feel we can't do anything right but thatk goodness it doesn't happen often. We're human
You're not going to believe this but I don't have anything else to tell you.
We only had 3 shows this week and I told you about them. Boise was our BEST audience "YET".
They were soooooooooooo loud and all stood as soon as the show was done. Great arena! We had a bit of a scare in Dallas though with the ice, it was 1/4 of an inch when we arrived which is VERY dangerous for all of us. I believe the single skaters had to adjust their programs and jumps to not hit the cement and injure themselves.
So that's it for this week but Dave or I'll be back next week to fill ya in. Time flies when we do these updates for you and it's fun to recap the week we had.
Hope you're enjoying it.
Bye for now,
Jamie
January 18th, 2005 - Hi, I'm here
Hello everyone.
Yes, that's me. Hard to believe, I know.
Well, lots has happened since I last wrote to all of you wonderful people.
I'm very happy that Jamie accepted my big request. The planning for the big day is coming along and that's all I can tell you about that for now.
I can't tell you how much fun the show is for me this year. Boxing is my favorite of all the production number. The numbers are all great but I do have my favorite also.
The travelling has been easy for us so far. Lots of flying and very few miles on the bus. The Tour schedule makes it like that. I always loved the bus. This year I decided to bring my XBOX. I never use it at home so I thought that maybe I could find a use for it on some of many sleepless nights on the road. We have been having some pretty heated soccer games. Steven and myself are LIVERPOOL (steven's choice) and John and Todd are MANCHESTER UNITED (just to drive Steven mad). So far LIVERPOOL is leading 4 games to 3. I will keep you posted.
We are in Dallas at the moment. The rest of the tour is in Denver. We are here for what we call a media day. We will be up at 4:45 tomorrow morning and go around the multiple media around the city to promote the show. We will be back in the great city of Denver wednesday for the show thursday night.
The crowds have been fantastic. Boise was on fire! You guys keep it up.
Good night and talk to you soon.
David
January 12th, 2005 - First week of tour
Hey guys!(and gals )
So we had a pretty successful 1st week on tour. I'm telling you, there's a lot to screw up in this show but we all pull it off pretty darn good. The transitions and the magic tricks can get a little tricky and trippy. I'm not sure what people are saying about it but we love it. It goes by so fast being so busy and quick changing practically the whole show. I go to the dressing room only in the 1st half after my "crystal ball" act and the rest I'm in quick change. Dave is in quick change the WHOLE show. We're working hard this year that's for sure. Dave is used to being so busy but for me it's a fiirst.
We've had great audiences so far and the #'s are great too. It's nice to see more people there.
The show is very audience friendly and they seem laugh and clap a lot. We always enjoy the screemers The 1st show someone yelled out "Congratulations you guys" and we both stared to giggle. It's cute when you guys yell stuff as long as it's nice
Oh ya, you'll all get a REALLY good kick out of all of us on Family Feud again soon. We were just in L.A on our day off (a stressfull one I might add) taping 5 episodes so keep your eyes open for it.
I made a HUGE fool of myslef AGAIN but we all didn't do as well as we did last year. For some reason it seemed harder. You'll think watching it at home that we're a bit dumb but honestly when you're there playing with an audience and cameras and "time" for pressure it's stresses you out so bad you actually kinda lose a part of your brain I'm serious. I'm the best playing this game at home in my livingroom but once I get there something happens. It's hard for Dave because of the language thing some times but he's so darn cute it doesn't matter.
You'll see what I mean when you see it.
I'm a bit embarrassed so please don't make fun of it, it hurt enough at the time and it's still bugging me. Oh well, it's good exposure for Stars and Smuckers our sponsor. We raised $42,000 for the Boys and Girls Clubs Of America and that's what really matters, right?!
Enjoy!
We're in Phoenix right now and tomorrow is a day off so I'm going to get my hair done with a girlfriend who lives here and Dave's going golfing. Nice heh!? She's taking me after to a yoga class that plays music during class. Interesting We only ashtanga yoga with our teacher who doesn't talk only to you for a correction and no music. All you hear is people breathing and moving around on their mats. Should be fun though.
Anyway, I'm tired now and Dave says I wrote enough. I'm spoiling you guys, when he writes he only writes about 10 lines. Take care and stay tuned for next weeks update. My apologies for being a bit late but it's hard to get it done right on a Monday.
Hope you're all well,
Jamie
January 5th, 2005 - Happy New Year!!!!!
Happy New Year everyone!
O.k, so we're a little late on telling you all the news. We were crazy busy with the holidays and having our family around and then we left so fast for Japan that we haven't had time to sit down and tell you about our engagement.
It all happened on Xmas morning infront of our parents which was so perfect. I was totally shocked (honestly, I had no idea) and cried for about 10 mins. To no surprise, once the skating world found out the public knew right away from the press release. We are so happy and excited about it and I say it's about time!!!
We had a great time in Japan (love it there!) and the show went well but we're all back in Seattle now getting ready for our show tonight. Can you believe it's all starting again? We're very excited about the tour having Steve back, he's so fun to have around and I'm sure you all agree he's kinda cute too
Hope you all had a great holiday season and are off to good start in the New Year. Best Wishes to all of you and enjoy the show this year.
Stay tuned for our weekly updates. Take care ,
Jamie and Dave
